01Summary

Scarlet Beast Poker is a multi-table poker platform (ring games and tournaments, hand histories, player accounts) with web, desktop and Android clients, a public API, and single sign-on shared with the rest of the Scarlet Beast estate.

Hiss is the AI behind the house play: nine years of solo work, six generations of neural networks, computer vision that reads a live table, and a promotion gate that decides which model ships. What transfers is the whole apparatus that produces the next model, not just today's weights.

05Current status

As of

  • The platform is live at poker.scarletbeast.com, with desktop and Android builds on its download page. The 30-bot house fleet runs there under systemd.
  • Measured in our arena against opponents calibrated to 142,000 real hands: the previous champion lost about 32 big blinds per 100 hands; training it to fold weak hands facing a bet brought that to about −4.
  • A precomputed CFR "blueprint" layer measured +20 to +28 bb/100 in heads-up arena play, but close to zero in six-max, which is the game the fleet actually plays. We report both.
  • On 2026-09-16 we found and fixed a bug that had stopped the neural-network bots acting for eight weeks while the tables played on.
  • The six-max Deep CFR research run (M6) finished its 3,000 iterations on 2026-09-14. Its policy is still being evaluated before anything from it reaches the tables.
